February 15 - 25
I’m incredibly proud to announce that the short film I worked on titled THREE THOUSAND is in Official Selection at the 68th edition of the Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival starting next week. I had the good fortune to work closely with the director, the Inuit artist and filmmaker Asinnajaq on location at the Montreal offices of The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and remotely here in Berlin. The short film will feature in the programme NATIVe - Indigenous Cinema.
Three Thousand at the Berlinale:
THREE THOUSAND examines the past, present and future of Inuit identity. Asinnajaq explores her heritage, at the same time plunging into a sublime imaginary universe. I created digital imagery which begins the narrative through a distant, primordial past, propelling itself towards a potential future where Inuit society has expanded its architectural and cultural landscape, carrying forward its societal traditions that continue to flow through the ages.
The Berlinale itself needs no introduction. Along with the Festival de Cannes, it stands to be one of the leading festivals for film premieres, the European Film Market and related media events.

Here's what some people have been saying about Constellation:
"Constellation Matches Abstract VFX With Classical Music To Great Effect"
- The Creators Project
"Classical music may not be topping today’s Billboard charts, but its
abstract magnificence is something that human beings both young and old
canbe transformed by.Not convinced? “Constellation” is about to change your mind — and blow it to smithereens."
"Subatomic Sublimity: Watch Classical Music And VFX Converge In Stunning Video CONSTELLATION"
"I wonder what Walt Disney would've thought of this video if he could have
seen intothe future some 70 years after Fantasia. If he saw animation
as the highest artform I think he certainly would have been happy to know
that it is still being used to express great performances in music."
- Animation Nation
"Director / animator Patrick Doan displays a star-studded cast of
dancing dots, as they whip and rip through the empty space around them."
- Empty Kingdom

and the natural art and music that surrounds us on a daily basis. "
