"CODEC" is a bookwork which comments
of the precariousness of intellectual property today due to
democratic and decentralized file-sharing of illegally obtained
digital music files, or commonly known as the "MP3"
file format. Using code obtained through controversial MP3
files, the work attempts to portray the dynamic and extensive
gamut of mediums that music has graced, allowing a revisionist
view to the on-going debates stemming from copyright law. |
